The Gram Panchayats are constituted under Telangana Panchayat Raj Act – 2018. They are the grass root level Local Bodies delivering certain services to the people living in the Villages of Telangana State.

The Government of Telangana is implementing “PallePragathi Program me” for improving the living conditions of people in Rural Areas and transform the villages into Model Villages.

It is the responsibility of Gram Panchayats to maintain proper Sanitation in the Villages and also deliver other services like maintenance of Streetlights, infrastructure like internal roads, sewerage drains etc. The Gram Panchayats also provide and maintain certain public utilities like Crematoria (Vaikunta Dhamam), Segregation Shed, Markets etc., for the convenience of the people. The Gram Panchayats are also responsible to improve and maintain the green cover.

The Gram Panchayats provide online Citizen Services like Layout Approvals, Building Permissions, House Tax Assessments, Building Mutations and Trade Licenses etc.,The Gram Panchayat is also the authority at the village level to register Births, Deaths and Marriages in its area.

Under the Act, the Gram Panchayats have to conduct Gram Panchayat Meetings, Gram Sabha Meetings regularly for proper decision making involving people and their elected representatives. The Gram Panchayats maintain certain registers in GP Office to bring on record its activities.

The Gram Panchayats are empowered to collect certain Taxes and Non-Taxes to provide public services to the people.

The Panchayat Secretaries are appointed under the Act to assist the Gram Panchayat in discharge of its duties and responsibilities.

This Mobile App helps in monitoring the activities of the Panchayat Secretaries in the above mentioned areas so as to improve service delivery to the people in a transparent and accountable manner.
